Description

August 11, 1969: Tom Mboya case opens, several witnesses give evidence on first day of hearing. The bullets taken from the body of Tom Mboya and the 38 Smith and Wesson revolver from which they are alleged to have been fired were produced in a Nairobi magistrate’s court. In the dock was Naashon Isaac Njenga Njoroge, accused of murdering Kenya’s late Minister for Economic Planning and Development on July 5, 1969. Senior Resident Magistrate Mr. S. K. Sachdeva opened the hearing at 9.30 a.m. in Court No. 5.
