Description

Kakamega Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale (left) addresses mourners at Lurambi village, Kakamega County. On Saturday, October 1, 2016, during the burial service of Police Constable Maureen Weyala Wamocha, Khalwale spoke on the importance of internal strength within the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD). He specifically thanked ODM leader Raila Odinga for hosting a massive party rally in Kisumu the previous day (September 30, 2016) to celebrate ODM’s 10th anniversary and rejuvenate its grassroots support. Khalwale argued that for the CORD coalition to successfully unseat the Jubilee administration in 2017, its constituent parties—ODM, Ford Kenya, and Wiper—must each be individually robust. He coined the strategy that a “strong ODM, strong Ford Kenya, and strong Wiper” would inevitably lead to a “strong CORD,” urging each party leader to continue popularizing their respective outfits to create a formidable, united force for the upcoming General Election. October 1, 2016.
