Dorothy Otieno, Data Editor, receives the Africa Fact-Checking Award for 2017 on behalf of the Nation Newsplex team. The team, including Nation journalists Joshua Mutinda Mutisya, Jeffrey Sika and Churchill Otieno, audited claims by candidates during the campaigns ahead of the elections. The award was presented during a gala dinner at the Global Investigative Journalism Conference held at University of the Witwatersrand, last night.
