He spoke during the launch of the Kisumu solid waste management strategy dubbed “Taka en Pesa” (waste is money), a campaign that is part of the Kisumu Integrated Sustainable Waste Management Project (KISWAMP) that aims to turn the town’s tonnes of garbage into a source of revenue.
