Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua makes his speech during the commissioning of Thiba dam in Kirinyaga on October 15, 2022. The Sh7.8 billion dam will increase rice production in the 30,060-acre Mwea irrigation scheme and an additional 10,000 acres flooded for rice farming in all seasons. President William Ruto graced the ceremony.
