Activist Okiya Okoiti Omtatah admitted to Mater Hospital in Nairobi on November 9, 2012, after he was attacked by unknown people in Nairobi’s CBD shortly after he alighted from a bus after 8:30 p.m. on November 8, 2012. He said two people hit him on his forehead and back simultaneously, breaking off his teeth. He said the attackers, in Kiswahili, asked him to withdraw a court case he filed on the purchase of biometric voter registration equipment.
