February 19, 1973: The inquest into the death of the late Minister for Power and Communications, Mr. Ronald Gideon Ngala (inset) opens before a Nairobi Senior Resident Magistrate, Mr. S. K. Sachdeva. Representing the State, the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. James Boro Karugu, said the Government has done all that could be done using all the resources and machinery at its command to establish the cause and circumstances surrounding the death of the late minister. Mr. Ngala died on December 25, 1972 after a road accident near Konza on the Mombasa Road. The Ngala family is being represented by a Nairobi Advocate Mr. W.S Deverell. There had been speculation that the minister had been poisoned or witchcraft was used. Here, The inquest Magistrate Mr. S.K.
