May 6, 1995: The controversial Mwangaza Trust is dissolved only eight months after it was launched. The decision was reached by seven of the 13 trustees during a meeting at their headquarters in Westlands, Nairobi. After the closed-door meeting, Mwangaza Chairman Mr. Paul Kibugi Muite (centre) to the Nation that the Government had made it impossible for them to operate due to persistent harassment. The Kikuyu MP added that the trustees will pursue the noble objects of the Trust as individuals in their daily struggles. He said although only seven members were at the meeting , the decision had the blessings of the rest. Among those at the meeting were lawyers, Mr. Muturi Kigano (left), Mr. Farah Maalim Mohamed, (second left), Mr. Ntai wa Nkuraru (Right), Imenti South MP Mr. Kiraitu Murungi (second right).
