October 4, 1977: Kenya bans all Ugandan commercial vehicles from operating through Kenya. A statement from the Ministry of Power and Communications signed by Permanent Secretary Mr. Samuel Ogembo (Right) said Kenya had noted with concerned Press reports from Uganda that Foreign commercial vehicles are banned from using Ugandan roads. Kenya’s action was a reciprocal step. It said.
