November 14, 1985: The Acting Chief Justice C. B Madan (inset) orders a fresh hearing of the application by Mr. Stanley Munga Githunguri (left) asking the High Court to prohibit the proceedings of the criminal case against him. In his application, Mr. Githunguri, a former Executive Chairman of the National Bank of Kenya, is asking the High Court for an order prohibiting the Nairobi Senior Magistrate Mr. J. A. Mango or any other magistrate from hearing charges against him with connection with foreign exchange regulations. Mr. Githunguri was represented by Mr. Byron Georgiadis (right).
