October 27, 1999: Njenga Karume (Centre) One of the richest men in Kenya is awarded Ksh 241 million compensation against Tusker makers, Kenya Breweries. The brewers were ordered to pay the tycoon for illegally ending his beer distribution agreement after discovering he had a similar deal with their rivals Castle. The brewers appealed and won the appeal. Here Mr. Karume is flanked by one of his lawyers Mr. E. Kimani.
