October 11, 2000: Jailed Rangwe MP Shem Ochuodho (Right) begins hunger strike. Ochuodho, who was being held at Kodiaga Prison near Kisumu has not eaten since Monday, when a Homa Bay magistrate jailed him for three years for assault and malicious damage to property. Here, the Rangwe MP was speaking at Parliament Buildings, a day after he was freed from jail. He blamed his jailing on the National Development Party leader Raila Odinga. With him is Kimilili MP Mukhisa Kituyi on October 19, 2000.
