A fisherman paddles on Lake Baringo using a homemade canoe and paddle made from a used plastic container. Lake Baringo offers a good and rare canoe sporting experience. Several other lakes in the Kenyan Rift Valley cannot be used for this sport due to infestation by large numbers of hippos and crocodiles. This makes Lake Baringo ideal for this thrilling sport. Fishing competitions are also common on Lake Baringo and involve both men and women.
