Description

There was a special attraction for visitors to the East African Literature Bureau stand at the Fair, where, in addition to a novel information kiosk and a wide selection of publications, a limited number of British Parliamentary Papers relating to East and Central Africa were placed on view. The collection comprises approximately 7,000 volumes covering the period 1800 to 1925, including documents on the slave trade and on Zanzibar, Uganda, Kenya and Malawi. The selected volumes were flown in specially for the Fair and were expected to draw particular interest. Mrs. Rose Mwangi is pictured inspecting the collection.
