Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo watches the football finals of the 2011 Shimanyula Tournament, organized by businessman Shimanyula in Kakamega, at Ebuchinga Sports Ground in Kakamega on December 27, 2011. During the finals, Jirongo said the Ministry of Youth should support sports teams financially to empower them instead of giving young people jembes to work on drainage projects. He also promised to improve the lives of Kenyans if elected president. “There is going to be fair nominations in UDM, whereby Ruto, Mwakwere, I, and any other aspirants will compete during the nominations to determine the party’s flag bearer,” said Jirongo.
