Internally Displaced people from the Turkana community who fled Trans Nzoia and Nandi areas during the post-election violence and other vulnerable people at Lokichar trading centre in Turkana South District wait for to receive their food rations at Lokichar Trading centre on September 23, 2008. 443 internally displaced families received food benefited during a relief food distribution exercise by the Kenya Red Cross Society. Area residents and those in surrounding regions are experiencing hunger due to prolonged drought in the area and they appealed for more assistance. They said it has not rained since October 2007.
