The 1,500 acres of land in Naivasha is at the center of an ownership dispute between the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) and the Isahakia community, with both claiming to own the land. Omtatah has filed a petition in the Nakuru Environment and Lands Court seeking orders to reverse a recent directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta that the land be given to the community. Justice Sila Munyao removed himself from hearing the case, citing an attack on his character by one of the parties. The case will be mentioned on April 7.
