Histo2010

October 20 1971: President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta is given an overwhelming mandate by thousands of Kenyans at Uhuru Park Nairobi to hang armed robbers in public. He was also given a mandate for receivers of stolen property to suffer similar fate. Here the president watches the fly-past by planes of the Kenya Air Force over Uhuru Park during Kenyatta Day celebration in 1971. On his right is Major-General Jackson Mulinge.
