October 19, 2010: Eldoret North MP William Ruto is suspended from Cabinet as minister for Higher Education, Science and Technology pending the hearing and determination of a Sh272 million fraud case against him. President Kibaki made the announcement ending days of speculation over the fate of the minister, who only four days ago swore not to resign from Cabinet over the case. The President used the opportunity to reshuffle assistant ministers. In the Photo, Mr. Ruto is in court with former Commissioner for Lands Mr. Sammy Mwaita.
