May 13, 1991: President Daniel arap Moi appoints Mr. Amos Wako the new Attorney-General. Mr. Wako replaces the embattled Mr. Justice Matthew Guy Muli. Mr. Muli has consequently been moved to the Court of Appeal as a judge. In a statement issued, President Moi said the appointment was made on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission. President Moi also appointed Mr John Kyalo the Minister for Industry replacing Mr. Dalmas Otieno, who moves to the Ministry of Manpower Development and Employment. The President also appointed Mr J.K. Ngutu a Minister of State. Mr. Ngutu is the new MP for Kangundo. He replaces Mr Paul Ngei, who lost his seat and Cabinet portfolio of Manpower Development and Employment after he was declared bankrupt.
